Safety and customer satisfaction are our priorities, get it done right, first time.
We at Brookvale mechanical FG Berrimans are authorised to issue Blue Slips, Green Slips and Pink Slips. Below you will find some brief descriptions of what they are.
Blue Slip
A blue slip is a pretty comprehensive inspection, you need one after a car has been out of rego for more than 3 months. This is to certify that the vehicle is roadworthy and is not a danger to the driver its occupants or other road users.
Without a blue slip you are unable to drive your vehicle legally on the road, unless you are driving it to Frank G Berrimans Garage. If you need to do this, please download our SERVICE NSW and NSW Police approved document and fill it out BEFORE you set off. DOWNLOAD HERE
Pink Slip
The "e-Safety Check" as it is now known need not be a huge problem. The key is to make sure your car is always properly maintained. Your authorised mechanic will know all the things that need to be looked at but there are simple things to keep in mind:
Your tyres should have a legal amount of grip
There should be no oil leaks
Your vehicle should have a sound body
Your vehicle should not exceed certain levels of emissions and noise
The key is that if you see anything unusual, get it checked out immediately. This will save you money long term.
Green Slip
Your greenslip is an insurance policy which provides for compensation for people killed or injured in a motor vehicle accident.
A greenslip is a legal requirement for all motor vehicles registered in NSW, except trailers. Trailers are covered under the greenslip of the towing vehicle.
Greenslip is a generic term for Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance. Greenslips are also referred to as CTP Greenslips, green slips, greenslip insurance, CTP and CTP Insurance.
